OBS is here to help
Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support provides local breastfeeding support in the community via four weekly in person support sessions, video and phone consultations, drop-in infant feeding support for families in The Leys, and monthly online antenatal breastfeeding education sessions for Oxfordshire families, facilitated by experienced IBCLCs and breastfeeding counsellors, supported by trained volunteers. We also run a friendly private Facebook group where you can quickly find support. If you are a student or visiting health professional see the page about observations for the latest news about what and where you can book to observe our work.
You can read about what to expect and how we've helped local families. Hope to see you soon!
In-person help
Book into one of our five weekly in-person sessions. On Tuesdays we are at the Barton Community Centre. On Wednesdays we are at the Kidlington Hub. On Thursdays we're at the Comper Foundation School in East Oxford and at Windale Primary School*. On Fridays, we're at the SOHA Housing Building in Didcot. Please book via our Calendly listings.
*Our Thursday session at Windale Primary School is primarily intended for families that live in Blackbird and Greater Leys but some pre-bookable slots are open to the wider community. Read more about our session in The Leys. Please note this session will not run on April 4th or 11th.

OBS Breastfeeding Grief and Trauma Support Sessions
We know that for many, breastfeeding did not work out the way they wanted or hoped. Many carry heavy and complicated feelings with them about their breastfeeding experiences. Some describe feeling grief and even trauma. We ran several successful sessions in the autumn of 2023 and then a couple more in March 2024. Our funding for these sessions has run out but we know there is a big need for this type of session. If you would like to be notified of any future sessions, please fill out this form to register your interest.
